Eligibility Checklist

Are you based in the UK or Ireland? Have you suffered discrimination, harm or loss of employment due to your beliefs about biological sex being unchangeable? Have you been affected by policies or practices which remove or fail to guarantee single-sex spaces, or negatively impact safeguarding, personal welfare or employment opportunities for women? Do you already have a solicitor willing to take on your case?* Do you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve, e.g. get your job back or claim compensation for harm or loss of earnings; a change or clarification of policy at work; or a change of policy within the organisation or authority you are challenging? Do you have a clear idea of the costs involved in mounting or defending a legal action including VAT where applicable? Without help, would you be unable to fund your own legal action? If your case relates to your employment, have you already followed all your employer’s dispute procedures?

* Women in prison who do not have access to the internet or do not have legal representation confirmed, but otherwise meet the eligibility criteria may still apply to the Fund via family or friends. However in order for the Fund to progress an application all correspondence must be between the Fund and the applicant or their solicitor.

Is your organisation challenging policies which compromise protected single-sex spaces for women and/or girls, or negatively affect safeguarding, personal welfare or employment opportunities for women? Do you already have a solicitor willing to take on your case? Do you have a clear idea of what you want to achieve, e.g. clarifying the law, or a change of policy within the organisation or authority you are challenging? Without help, would your organisation be unable to fund its own legal action? Do you have a clear idea of the costs involved in mounting or defending a legal action including VAT where applicable?
